Rajnath Singh accuses Congress of misleading people with false promises

  • | Thursday | 3rd October, 2024

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday praised Haryanas farmers, describing the state as the land of hardworking and dedicated agriculturists. Turning his attention to the Congress, Singh accused the opposition party of misleading the country with false promises.  While addressing a rally in Bilaspur town, organised by Balwant Singh, BJPs candidate from the Sadhaura Assembly constituency of Yamunanagar district, Singh said, If the Congress had even partially fulfilled their promises during their 50-55 years in power, India would have become the richest and most powerful country in the world, he claimed. Singh contrasted the BJPs track record, citing the governments success in boosting Indias stature on the global stage. In the past, Indias voice on international forums was not given the seriousness it deserved. Today, the whole world listens carefully when India speaks. This is the status we have achieved, said Singh. Singh said that the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre is preparing to introduce a Bill on one nation, one election in Parliament, aimed at holding the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections simultaneously across the country.  On the occasion, Singh emphasised that the implementation of simultaneous elections would save both time and resources. The country recently held Lok Sabha elections, and now, just four months later, Haryana is holding its Assembly elections. It would have been better if both elections were held together, Singh said. He explained that the frequent election cycles keep the administrative machinery constantly occupied. The entire administrative system remains busy with elections, leaving officers unable to focus on the welfare of the people as much as they should, he added. Reaffirming the BJPs commitment to the one nation one election policy, Singh said, To fulfill this commitment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has decided to table a Bill in Parliament. We do not hesitate to do whatever is in the best interest of the country. Anurag Thakur accuses Congress of exploiting farmers during its regime Karnal: Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing it of exploiting farmers during its regime. At rallies in Gharaunda and Assandh, Thakur alleged that the Congress purchased farmers lands at throwaway prices under Bhupinder Singh Hoodas government. Thakur criticised the former governments corruption, citing large-scale land deals that benefited industrialists while leaving farmers empty-handed. He highlighted Congress past failures, including national security and defence issues, and multiple terror attacks during their rule. In contrast, Thakur praised BJPs welfare initiatives, including monthly assistance for women and subsidised gas cylinders. He emphasised the Agnipath schemes job security benefits and accused the Himachal Pradesh government of failing to fulfill election promises. Thakur assured voters that if BJP returned to power, it would continue Haryanas progress under the non-stop development agenda, promoting Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. He criticised Rahul Gandhi for allegedly spreading falsehoods about the Modi government. Thakur expressed confidence in BJPs victory in the upcoming elections, urging people to vote for BJP candidates.
