Farmers worried as paddy being sold in markets Rs 500 below than MSP: Hooda

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday alleged that the policies of BJP are completely anti-farmer and it deliberately wants to deprive farmers of MSP as they are forced to sell their paddy Rs 500 below the MSP. Addressing a public meeting at Ramlila Ground in Sangoha-Sangohi village, Indri, Karnal, Hooda said, Farmers paddy has been reaching the markets for many days. On top of that, the threat of rain is constantly looming. The government is not ready to start purchasing paddy. Therefore, farmers are forced to sell their crops for Rs 500 rupees less than MSP. This is the kind of mischief BJP plays with farmers in every crop season. Farmers have now united and decided to overthrow this government, he said. Hooda said, Today farmers themselves tell that in the rule of Congress, the crop was exported in ships, while now it goes away in paying interests on debts. During the Congress government, farmers used to get high rates for crops, but during the BJP tenure, farmers have to sell their crop at a rate lower than MSP. The Congress government had increased the price of sugarcane from Rs 117 to Rs 310, a jump of a 193, which was 165 per cent. But BJP has barely increased the rate of sugarcane by 20 percent in 10 years. This is very unfortunate, he said. Hooda said that BJP has entangled the public in scams of portals like Parivar Pehchan Patra, Property ID and Meri Fasal-Mera Byora, while the farmer should get MSP for the crop he has grown. Therefore, Congress will make a law guaranteeing MSP to farmers and will close unnecessary and scam-promoting portals, he stated. Launching a sharp attack on the BJP government in Kaithal, Hooda accused it of ignoring merit and reservation in job placement under the Kaushal Rozgar Nigam. He referred to the government as contractor for providing only contractual jobs to youth instead of permanent jobs.  He said The BJP government has failed to provide permanent jobs. It provided jobs under the Kaushal Rozgar Nigam by ignoring merit, reservation and job security. It is a hub of corruption, where jobs are sold in wholesale.  During Congress tenure, Haryana was number one in sectors like education, development, industry, employment, law and order and others, but under the BJP rule, the state now ranks highest in crime, extortion, unemployment, inflation, poor law and order and other issues, he said. Hooda also questioned the governments decision to abolish job reservations for Dalits and Backward Classes, calling it a deliberate step to abolish their rights. He highlighted delays in justice for wrestlers and stressed that inflation is crushing ordinary people. He also highlighted the issue of farmers plight and said, The BJP had promised to double the income of farmers, but instead, the cost of farming has multiplied, with diesel, fertilisers, and other inputs becoming expensive, leading to increased debt for farmers. Hooda also promised that senior citizen will be given old age pension of Rs. 6000, legal guarantee of MSP, free electricity of 300 units, gas cylinder for Rs. 500, free plots of 100-100 yards and two room house, creamy layer of OBC Rs. 10 lakh, old pension scheme and free treatment of poor up to Rs. 25 lakh will be fulfilled at all costs on formation of Congress government. Congresss complete manifesto will be released on Saturday, which will tell about the entire roadmap of the Congress government.
