HP Governor stresses preservation of ayurveda and heritage

Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla underscored the need to preserve Indias ancient knowledge of Ayurveda and emphasized the importance of deeper research into Prakriti Parikshan — a traditional diagnostic method focused on understanding the constitution of the human body.   Speaking at the 8th annual sammaan samaroh of Bhartiya Dharohar in New Delhi on Saturday evening, Shukla urged wider promotion of Ayurveda for treating ailments and preserving cultural heritage. He highlighted Indias rich legacy, noting that foreign scholars, including Max Muller, recognized the immense value of the Vedas. Shukla called for increased awareness among youth about Indias spiritual and cultural history.   India is a land of immense cultural heritage, which must be safeguarded. Our heritage assigns the status of Mother to the country…We must not only take pride in our heritage but also raise awareness about it among the youth and children, he said, adding that India has a unique position and was a global center for spiritual knowledge and people from all over the world comes here to learn from scholars of our country.   The Governor applauded Bhartiya Dharohars dedicated efforts in preserving ancient traditions and serving society.   He also released the September issue of the organizations annual magazine and honored individuals who made significant contributions to various fields. Ranjeet Kaur was recognized for her late husbands contributions, while renowned writer and director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi and Lakshmi Narayan Goel, a social worker engaged in education and cultural preservation in rural and tribal areas, were also honored. Patrons and members of Bhartiya Dharohar who made notable contributions to the organization were acknowledged during the event.
