BMW parts to be manufactured in Punjab: New plant to create jobs

Automotive giant BMW will have essential components manufactured in the State now. A new plant, to be established in Mandi Gobindgarh, will not only boost the regions industrial output but also provide thousands of job opportunities, marking a key milestone in Punjabs economic development.   Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, during a meeting with a delegation from Modren Automotives Limited, comprising Aditya Goyal, Suhail Goyal and Manish Bagga, on Monday, announced the governments full support for the companys expansion plans.   Modren Automotives, a leading Indian automotive manufacturer, has received approval to supply Differential Pinion Shafts to German luxury vehicles manufacturer BMW AG Munich, making them the first Indian company to achieve this. The project, valued at Rs 150 crore, will see the production of 2.5 million units for BMW at the new facility.   The new plant will house additional production lines for BMW components, bringing in fresh investments and generating more revenue for the state. The expansion will also facilitate future developments and testing of automotive parts at the same premises, further enhancing Punjabs reputation as an industrial hub.   Expressing his pride, Chief Minister Mann highlighted the importance of this partnership. Its a matter of immense pride that Punjab will now be producing parts for a world-renowned brand like BMW. This will not only promote industrial growth but will also put Punjab on the global industrial map, he said.   The plant will serve as a hub for future expansions and testing of automotive components, bringing in further investments and enhancing revenue for the state. The Chief Minister also committed to laying the foundation stone of the plant next month, ensuring the project moves forward swiftly.   Mann reiterated Punjabs commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, emphasizing the states industrial harmony and investor-friendly policies. Punjab is a land of opportunity, and companies from around the world are eager to invest here, he added.   In addition to boosting the economy, the project will generate thousands of jobs, particularly for the youth, aligning with the states vision of fostering growth and development through large-scale industrial initiatives.
