Haryana Polls | INLD announces 7 candidates

Former Haryana Chief Minister and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supremo Om Prakash Chautalas grandson Arjun Chautala, INLDs old trusted lieutenants Rampal Majra and Sher Singh Barshami, who was convicted in infamous JBT teachers recruitment scam along with Om Prakash Chautala and Ajay Chautala (now JJPs national president), figure among the seven candidates announced by the party on Sunday for the State Assembly polls. INLD and BSP have announced an alliance for the Haryana Vidhan Sabha polls.   Sheela Rathi — wife of Nafe Singh Rathi, INLDs then state president and two-time MLA from Bahadurgarh, was shot dead allegedly by members of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in his constituency in February this year — will be contesting as INLD nominee from Bahadurgarh.   While Arjun Chautala, who is the son of INLDs lone MLA in Haryana from Ellenabad seat Abhay Singh Chautala, will be contesting from Rania; Rampal Majra will be contesting from Kalayat; Sher Singh Barshami from Ladwa; Umed Lohan from Narnaund; Tayyab Hussain from Hathin; and Master Gurtej Singh Sukhchain from Kalanwali.   Dushyant to file nomination from Uchana on Sept 5 Former Deputy Chief Minister and JJPs senior leader Dushyant Chautala on Sunday said that he will contest election from Uchana constituency, and file nomination on September 5. Stating that he has been contesting from Uchana assembly seat since 2014, he claimed that he remained dedicated to the people there.   Addressing a meeting of JJP workers in Uchana, Dushyant urged JJP and Azad Samaj Party workers to unite and work diligently for the next 35 days to establish a farmer-laborer government in the state. With the consensus of the party workers, Dushyant announced that he would file his nomination on the very first day on September 5. He stated that a havan would be performed at Uchana party office in the morning, followed by filing of nomination.   Additionally, a rally will be held on October 2 at Uchana Grain Market, with JJP national president Dr Ajay Singh Chautala, Azad Samaj Party leader Chandrashekhar Azad, and several senior leaders expected to attend.
