Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said that the suffering endured by those who experienced the horrors of the Countrys partition can never be forgotten. Considering their pains, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15, 2021 had announced from the Red Fort that August 14 would be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day to honor those who sacrificed during the partition. In line with this, today the Haryana Government has begun observing this day as a state-level event under the Saint Mahapurush Samman Evam Vichar Prachar Prasar Yojana from Kurukshetra, Saini added. The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the State-level event by the Panchanand Memorial Trust in Kurukshetra on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. Saini, paying tribute to those who were killed in the bloodshed following Indias partition, said that he prays to the Almighty that such unfortunate incidents never occur anywhere in the world. The partition of India is a tragedy about which almost half of the post-independence literature is filled. The pain of the partition can never be forgotten, he said. The Chief Minister said that August 14 is a sorrowful day for the partition of India. In 1947, while the process of Indias independence was ongoing, the country was also divided. Thus, we had to pay a heavy price for independence. Not only was our country divided, but lakhs of people on both sides were displaced and many were killed in the riots. Atrocities were committed against mothers and sisters. Even today, remembering that scene makes humanity shudder, he added. Saini said that these families and their new generations have also played a notable role in Haryanas development. The developed Haryana we see today owes much to the sweat of those hard working people. No matter where they settled in the country, their region experienced particular prosperity, thanks to their patriotism, honesty, dedication, and commitment, said Saini. He said that this day not only conveys a message of brotherhood but also reminds us that when the threads of social unity break, the country can also be torn apart. The Prime Ministers announcement of observing this day was intended for Indians to learn from history and commit to national unity for a golden future. The land of Haryana has endured the pain of partition more than others. Many families from here went to Pakistan, and the number of families displaced from Western Punjab at that time is higher compared to other states, said Saini The Chief Minister said that a world-class Shaheedi Samarak is being built in the village of Masana in Kurukshetra to preserve the memories of the partition and teach the new generations about mutual love and harmony. Approximately Rs 200 crores will be spent on this memorial. The Panchanand Memorial Trust has donated 25 acres of land for this purpose. Similarly, a memorial chowk has also been established in Jhajjar. The Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 51 lakhs from his discretionary fund for the Shaheedi Samarak. He added that since its establishment in 2010, the Panchanand Memorial Trust has made great efforts to keep the memory of our ancestors alive. During the partition, 1 lakh of our ancestors fell victim to that horror. They could not even receive proper last rites. For the peace of their souls, the Panchanad Memorial Trust conducted a collective pind-daan at Gaya Tirth in 2016. Establishment of Maharaja Agrasen Airport will give Hry a unique identity on worlds air map In another event at Agroha, Hisar, the Chief Minister announced the inclusion of Agroha in the Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority to accelerate its development. The Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority will now be known as the Hisar-Agroha Metropolitan Development Authority. Saini said that to spread the glory of Agroha Dham and the message of equality, compassion, cooperation, democracy, harmony, brotherhood, non-violence given by Maharaja Agrasen, the journey that started from Chandigarh on August 3 has now reached here after travelling across the state. He said that it is a matter of pride that Maharaja Agrasen made Agroha his capital on this holy land. The Chief Minister said that the airport being built in Hisar has been named after Maharaja Agrasen. The establishment of this airport will give Haryana a distinct identity on the worlds air map.  He said that in line with the principles of equality and social harmony of Maharaja Agrasen, the Haryana government has ensured equitable development in every sector. Over the past decade, new records of development have been set in Haryana. The Haryana government has taken numerous effective steps to create a conducive environment for industry and business. Saini said that along with financial incentives, timely delivery of government services has been ensured for industrialists, traders, and investors. As a result, Haryana has become the first choice for entrepreneurs both domestically and internationally for capital investment. He said that to accelerate industrial development, the Haryana government has developed an Ease of Doing Business ecosystem. In the past decade, 6,71,524 micro, small, and medium enterprises have been set up in the state, providing employment to 34 lakh people. Additionally, to address traders issues, the Haryana Traders Welfare Board has been established, informed Saini. The Chief Minister said that under the Stand-Up India scheme, 6,027 young entrepreneurs in the state have been provided loans amounting to Rs. 1,238 crore. Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY), 36 lakh youths have been given loans totaling Rs. 35,950 crore to establish employment. For setting up new food processing units in the state, a 25 percent capital investment subsidy is provided on project costs, said Saini.
