Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister Banwari Lal on Sunday suspended District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) Nirmal Dahiya for harassing the department officers. The action came during the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Hisar district where the employees of District Elementary Education Department lodged a complaint against the DEEO Dahiya.   In the complaint, the employees stated that the officer was harassing them in various ways. Acting on the complaint, Banwari Lal immediately ordered the suspension and transfer of District Elementary Education Officer Nirmal Dahiya.   In the meeting, 17 complaints were heard and necessary directions were given to the officers concerned. Before the meeting, the Minister laid the foundation stones for additional structures to improve water supply in the various villages of Hisar district and the widening or strengthening works of 12 roads with a total length of 23.985 kilometres.   During the meeting, Lal, while listening to the grievances, directed the officers to ensure the prompt resolution of complaints brought before the committee, so that people do not face any inconvenience.   In the meeting, Ran Singh, a resident of the village Shikarpur, complained that the depot holder never comes to the village for ration distribution. The person running the depot only comes at the end of the month for one or two days and always cites problems like machine malfunction and shortage of ration, causing many people to not receive their ration. The Minister directed the SDM Hisar to form a committee to investigate the matter.   Similarly, another complainant reported the illegal occupation of government land between Sisai Bridge on Hansi Main Road and Nehru College. The Minister directed the concerned officers to immediately remove the encroachment. In another complaint, there was a demand to stop construction in an illegal colony and take action against the involved employees. The Minister directed the concerned officers to investigate the matter.
