Work for timely achievement of set goals: Comm to officials

Reviewing progress of ongoing initiatives across all districts in Bhopal, Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh on Wednesday instructed that all departments must work towards the timely achievement of set goals. He said that proposals for additional targets should be forwarded to the office within a week, and underlined the need to prepare work schedules for the remainder of the financial year to ensure that targets are met by each of the departments.Singh was holding a monthly review of the work across all districts of the division through video conferencing. Collectors, CEO District Panchayats, and other relevant officials were present. The Joint Commissioner of Development, Vinod Yadav, and divisional officers of all departments were also in attendance.The Commissioner directed the Department of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Welfare to expedite the implementation of the PM Jan-Man scheme and the Dharalti Aaba Tribal Utkarsh Abhiyan. The Ayushman Scheme has shown good progress across the division, with Bhopal district at 96%, Sehore 93%, Raisen 87%, Vidisha 86%, and Rajgarh 82% card distribution. Remaining tasks should be completed through a campaign.During the review of scholarship distribution, instructions were given to complete the remaining profile updates promptly. In the Department of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture, the Commissioner emphasized the timely availability of fertilizers and seeds, prompt payment for soybean procurement, and swift transportation of procured crops. Burning of crop residue should be strictly prevented, with legal action taken against offenders.Farmers should also be encouraged to use Happy Seeders. In the credit card distribution review, the Animal Husbandry Department has distributed 6,962 Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs) against a target of 9,450. The Fisheries Departments progress was slow and was advised to increase the pace.In the review of the Urban Bodies and Housing Department, the Commissioner instructed that benefits of the Prime Ministers Street Vendor Scheme and other schemes should reach as many beneficiaries as possible during the ongoing "Swaniidhi Bhi, Swabhimaan Bhi" fortnight.Considering the cold season, the Commissioner emphasized the provision of bonfires, hot water, quilts, and blankets at shelters for homeless people. Cleanliness, electricity, water, access roads, and lighting around the shelters should be ensured. All districts should verify the shelters. Non-governmental organizations should assist in running these shelters.During the review of the Women and Child Development Department, continuous efforts to prevent gender-based violence were stressed, with reports to be submitted regularly until December 10. Instructions were also given for the proper operation of the After Care Scheme. The Commissioner instructed the Public Health Engineering Department to promptly hand over completed tap water schemes to concerned panchayats.In the Panchayat and Rural Development Department review, it was informed that 420 gaushalas (cow shelters) have been sanctioned in the division, with 370 completed, 48 under progress, and 2 yet to begin. Work on incomplete gaushalas should be completed promptly, with arrangements for electricity and water. Under the Vrindavan Gram Scheme, one village per development block should be selected with a minimum population of 2,000, at least 500 cattle, and adequate arrangements for water and fodder.The Commissioner also directed that notices be issued to five officers in Rajgarh district for failing to resolve complaints on time.
