Constitution day observed at State assembly

The programme commenced with Principal Secretary AP Singh joining officials and staff of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat in paying tribute to Dr Ambedkar, the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly. Singh later provided factual information about the Constitution, followed by a collective reading of the Preamble to the Constitution.On this occasion, Singh noted that we are currently in the "Amrit Kaal" (Golden Era) of the Constitution. He remarked that several leaders from the state were members of the Constituent Assembly. "The success of the democratic system in our country is primarily attributed to the strong framework and institutional structure established in the Constitution," he said. Singh added that the Constitutions makers skillfully completed the challenging task of creating a framework that reflects the hopes and aspirations of millions of citizens, and it continues to guide the nation forward.He said it was a matter of pride that Ambedkar was born in Madhya Pradesh and that leaders from the state, such as Pt Ravi Shankar Shukla, Ratanlal Malviya, Vinayak Sarwate, Dr Harisingh Gour, Shambhunath Shukla, Dr Lal Singh, Ramsahay Tiwari, Sitaram Jaju, and Seth Govind Das, were part of the Constituent Assembly.After the final approval by the Constituent Assembly, the Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949. The drafting took 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days.
