Yuva Samvad held at Medi-Caps varsity

The Faculty of Agriculture at Medi-Caps University, in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture and Food Processing, Government of Madhya Pradesh, organized "Yuvasamvad" under the Prime Minister Micro Food Enterprises Upgradation Scheme (PMFME). The program aimed to explore innovations, challenges, and opportunities in secondary and tertiary agriculture. The event was graced by D.S. Chauhan, Deputy Director of Horticulture, as the chief guest, presided over by Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Patnaik, and witnessed the participation of prominent experts like Rakesh Aggarwal, Yashi Srivastava, and Ravikant, who provided valuable insights on marketing strategies, business planning, and sustainable food processing technologies, along with Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Panda, Dean of Agriculture Prof. S.D. Upadhyay, Registrar Prof. P. Siluvanathan, and esteemed Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members. DS Chauhan, in his keynote address, highlighted the role of micro and small-scale food enterprises in strengthening rural economies and fostering sustainable development. Prof. (Dr.) D.K. Patnaik emphasized the transformative potential of agricultural processing and marketing and encouraged students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in these areas. Rakesh Aggarwal, a marketing and export strategist, outlined innovative approaches to marketing food products and expanding agricultural exports. Yashi Srivastava, Food Consultant and District Resource Chief Executive Officer, provided a comprehensive guide on preparing business project reports, securing loans, and obtaining licenses to empower budding agro-entrepreneurs. Ravikant, an expert in solar drying technologies, explained the use of solar dryers in food processing, showcasing their sustainability and cost-effectiveness in enhancing agricultural value chains.
