Aadhar e-KYC must for Samagra schemes

As per fresh directives issued by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment on Saturday Aadhar e-KYC will now be mandatory for all schemes operated through the Samagra portal. "Henceforth, any beneficiary must complete their Aadhaar e-KYC on the Samagra portal to avail benefits of departmental scheme," said a media brief issued by the department. Completion of Aadhaar e-KYC on the Samagra portal will be necessary for applications being registered on the departmental portal. For schemes without an online system, the relevant approving authority will verify the Aadhaar e-KYC on the Samagra portal before granting approvals. The instructions shall remain in force for all departmental schemes, linking of bank accounts to Aadhaar, and activation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).The Department of Science and Technology is facilitating the Aadhaar e-KYC process for citizens on the Samagra portal. Directives have also been issued to department officials to ensure Aadhaar e-KYC for all beneficiaries of pension schemes operated by the department. As per the directives, Samagra Social Security Officers will coordinate with service provider agencies and district/assistant e-Governance managers in their area to set up camps at the village panchayat or ward level, to ensure completion of Aadhar e-KYC formalities are completed for beneficiaries on a time bound manner.The village panchayat secretary and ward in-charge can also assist beneficiaries in completing their Aadhaar e-KYC on the Samagra portal.
