Sports college and synthetic track to be built in Satna: CM

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted the role of sports in fostering discipline, self-confidence, intellectual sharpness, fearlessness, and attentiveness within individuals. He noted that Madhya Pradesh achieved fourth place in the Khelo India Youth Games, with the state earning 15 medals in shooting and contributing significantly to the Indian hockey team in the Olympics. Currently, 11 academies across 18 sports disciplines are operating within the state, a matter of great pride. Yadav announced an allocation of Rs 15 crore for the establishment of a Sports College in Satna, along with an additional Rs 7 crore for constructing a synthetic track. He also instructed the District Collector to prioritize the construction of a boundary wall and other necessary facilities. The Chief Minister made these remarks at the closing ceremony of the 35th All India Sports (Athletics) Festival 2024, organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan (All India Education Institute) in Satna. the Chief Minister inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Cultural programmes were also presented on this occasion. CM Dr. Yadav also distributed prizes to the winners of the 35th All India Sports (Athletics) Competition. Information about the activities conducted by the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan was also given in the programme. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sportspersons have made many achievements at the national and international level. Prime Minister Modi, along with appreciating the medal winning players, also encouraged the players who missed out on getting medals despite best efforts. Be it sports or the field of scientific research, Prime Minister Modi, following the Indian tradition and introducing the spirit of sportsmanship, constantly encourages talents from all fields to perform their best. This affection, blessings and guidance of Prime Minister Modi is inspiring the countrymen to do their best in all fields. Yadav said that India has a rich history of traditional sports like horse riding, archery, fencing, wrestling. Brothers and sisters have equally demonstrated their proficiency in these skills. Rani Durgavati fought 51 battles on the strength of the sword and won all of them. Rani Durgavati, Rani Avantibai, Rani Lakshmibai and Rani Ahilyabai, along with setting examples in the field of protection of the motherland and good governance, also made significant contributions in the expansion of Sanatan culture. The Chief Minister said that like Makar Sankranti, Gudi Padwa, Guru Purnima, the state government also celebrated Dussehra with great pomp. In Indian culture, both weapons and scriptures have been given equal importance. Expressing this feeling, weapon worship was performed in all police lines, police stations and armory on Dussehra. Festivals have special importance in Indian culture, Deepawali and Govardhan Puja will also be celebrated with great pomp by the state government. Yadav said that India, believing in the principle of Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah Sarve Santu Niraamayaah, is continuously active under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the establishment of peace in the world on the basis of the spirit of live and let live. India is demonstrating its capabilities at the national as well as international level. Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing,  Pratima Bagri said that sports inspire us to accept defeat and victory in life equally and to live life with sportsmanship. She inspired the participants to move towards their goal with enthusiasm and positive spirit. Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Lakhan Patel, Satna Mayor Yogesh Tamrakar, All India Organisation Secretary of Vidya Bharati Ram and public representatives were present in the programme.
