MP Hajj Committee declares names of pilgrims for Hajj journey 2025

Scenes of jubilation were witnessed as the Madhya Pradesh Hajj Committee announced the names of pilgrims undertaking the annual visit to the holy twin cities of Mecca and Medina this year. A total of 7,107 pilgrims from the state have been confirmed to participate in the journey during the Haj 2025 season, while another 2,784 have been placed on the waiting list. The names of the pilgrims are selected through a draw of lots conducted by the committee at its office in the state capital. The announcement comes close on the heels of the fresh Haj guidelines issued by the central government a few days ago. As per the guidelines, the selected pilgrims will now be required to submit their documents and the advance pilgrimage expenses to the Haj Committee by October 21, 2024. A number of religious and political leaders have extended congratulatory messages to those undertaking the journey. The Haj is one of the five obligatory tenets of Islam.The Haj is mandatory for all community members of sound mental and physical health who can afford to bear the expenses.
