Singrampur is a gram panchayat under Jabera tehsil of Damoh district, about 54 km from Damoh headquarters and about 51 km from Jabalpur district, the capital of Gond ruler Raja Dalpat Shah and Rani Durgavati. Near Singrampur is the fort of Rani Durgavati which is known as Singaurgarh Fort. The tomb of Raja Dalpat Shah and a huge statue of Rani Durgavati are installed in Singrampur. Mahakaushal and partly the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh came under the then Gond Empire. Presently this area is under the Jabalpur and Sagar divisions. There were 52 forts under this empire. In this empire, Sangram Shah, Dalpat Shah, and Rani Durgavati ruled from 1500 to 1564 and protected the kingdom from Mughal invaders. Their struggle against the British Empire has been remarkable. He ruled from the fort of Singaurgarh located near Singrampur. His tomb is present near Singrampur. Rani Durgavati Veerangana Rani Durgavati was a great Indian ruler, who sacrificed her life for her self-respect and motherland.
