Urban bodies collect Rs 80 cr revenue

The Urban Development and Housing Department organised a special concession camp in the National Lok Adalat in all the urban bodies in the state on Saturday. Revenue collection of Rs 80 crore was made in the National Lok Adalat. Special concessions were given in the taxes levied by the urban bodies in the camps. In these, matters related to property tax, water tax and Swachh Bharat tax were settled. Tax was collected with mutual consent in the National Lok Adalat. The municipal corporations of the state collected an amount of about Rs 65 crore. At the same time, the municipalities earned a revenue of more than Rs 9 crore. An amount of Rs 6 crore was collected in all the municipal councils of the state. Thus, a total revenue of Rs 80 crore was received by the urban bodies. Indore Municipal Corporation received the highest revenue of Rs 26 crore. Bhopal Municipal Corporation received revenue of Rs 13 crore, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation received revenue of Rs 4 crore and Gwalior Municipal Corporation received revenue of Rs 5 crore 75 lakh. 60 thousand citizens received assistance in the National Lok Adalat and the cases were resolved by mutual consent.
