Illegally transported cattle in trucks seized in Khargone district

Khargone police have seized 3 trucks and one Eicher vehicle used in transporting cattle illegally, total worth about Rs 90 lakh.  action has been taken against illegal cow smugglers at Maheshwar Police Station. On June 22  information was received at Maheshwar police station that cattle were being taken from Amritsar (Punjab) in 3 trucks bearing registration number PB-02-CR-9192, PB-11-CU-3635, PB-13-AR-1499 and 01 Eicher vehicle No. PB-02-EL-8277 towards Solapur, Maharashtra for slaughter. Taking immediate action on the information of the informer, the police team put up a stopper on AB Road near Kakadada Chowki and started checking and spotted the vehicles On searching the above vehicles stopped by the police team, the tarpaulin tied to the vehicles was opened and checked and cows were kept inside the vehicles. When the drivers and others in the vehicles were asked about the valid permit for transporting cows, all of them said that they did not have it and on questioning it was revealed that the cows were loaded from Majitha Amritsar Punjab by Sukhdev Singh alias Kaka and Jaan for slaughter to earn money and were being taken to Solapur Maharashtra. In this manner, total 50 cows were freed from the possession of the accused by the police team and crime number 279 under sections 4, 6, 6a/9 of Madhya Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act and 11g of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was registered against 11 accused and investigation was taken up. Out of which 9 accused have been arrested by the police team and all efforts are being made to arrest 2 accused. The arrested accused have been presented before the honorable court by the police team. The accused are identified as Gulshan Masih of Gurdaspur Punjab, Haval Masih of Gurdaspur Punjab, Vishal Masih of  district Amritsar, Baljinder Singh of Tarn Taran Punjab, Sunny Singh of Majitha Amritsar, Rinku Masih of Gurdaspur, Gaurav Singh of Gurdaspur, Joyal Masih of Gurdaspur and Johan Singh of Amritsar.
