With temperatures rising steadily over the past few days, there has been a notable surge in patients presenting with symptoms such as dehydration, fever, fatigue, weakness, vomiting, and diarrhea. Statistics from the Medicine Departments Outpatient Department (OPD) paint a concerning picture, with 653 patients on 24th, 462 on 25th and 723 on May 27 seeking medical attention alone. In response to the escalating patient numbers, the dedicated medical professionals of the Medicine Department at AIIMS Bhopal are working tirelessly to address the needs of every individual. To ensure seamless patient care from the moment of arrival, the hospital staff is extending their support, guiding patients through the registration process and assisting them in reaching the appropriate healthcare provider promptly. Professor (Dr.) Rajneesh Joshi, Head of the Department of Medicine, underscores the importance of preventive measures during this scorching summer season. He emphasized on staying covered while outdoors, staying hydrated, engaging in light physical activity, and avoiding unnecessary sun exposure, particularly crucial for individuals with co-morbidity conditions such as diabetes or hypertension.
