‘Operation clean’ for tax officials

From their office desk to their homes, over 240 officials of the Central Tax (south commissionerate) will be the flag-bearers of ‘Operation clean’, which was launched on Tuesday as part of the central government’s ‘Swachhata Pakhwada 2018’. The officials took an oath to clear pending files, keep their desk clean, ensure cleanliness in their office surroundings and home, and even places which they visit frequently. As part of the programme, the department is planing to adopt a traffic junction, school and slum, and keep them clean. Amitesh B. Singh, Additional Commissioner (PCCO), who administered the pledge, said that the staff would neither litter not let others litter. M. Vinod Kumar, Principal Chief Commissioner, said they are planning to seek permission to take up a few junctions whose cleanliness they would monitor.

"Officials who too part in the drive decided to pick up trash lying around and put it in the dustbin, which would not only be self-motivating, but also inspire others,” a senior official said. The staff would also attend a workshop by experts on waste management. As part of the programme, the department is planing to adopt a traffic junction, school and slum, and keep them clean. M.
