Civil aviation director asks AAI to inspect Bareilly airport site

The airport is proposed to come up near Mudia Ahmed Nagar village on Pilibhit bypass, next to the Trishul Air Base. AAI had earlier suggested a requirement of 14.4 hectares land for the airport. The airport here would also mean that there would be increased demand for more hotels and resorts in the region,” said the DM. We will also request AAI officials to start construction work soon.”The proposal for setting up a civilian airport in the city has been in the pipeline for years. A proposal has been sent to the state government for a budget of Rs 5.50 crore for the additional land requirement.
