ADA issues 471 notices for installation of rainwater harvesting system

The amount of security money is Rs 50,000 for a 300 to 500 square metres building, Rs 1 lakh for properties covering over 500 square metres and Rs 1 lakh for every 1,000 square metres above that limit. Agra: With a view to tap rain water this monsoon, the Agra Development Authority (ADA) has issued notices to residential and commercial establishments across the city to install rainwater harvesting systems. Chief town planner SC Gaur said, “On Monday, more notices will issued to builders and those constructing houses. So far, 471 notices have been issued and ADA insists that it will carry out spot inspections this year to ensure compliance.According to the state government directive, every building constructed in an area of 300 square metres or more must be equipped with a water harvesting system. The upper limit of security money is Rs 10 lakh.Since 2008, ADA has approved more than 800 house maps in which the area covered by the building is 300 square metres or above.
