Dubai suspends Air India flights over Covid-19 issue; revokes the order later

It has been reported that a COVID positive person flew from Jaipur to Dubai on September 4, and a similar incident had happened earlier as well.

Dubai suspended Air India Expressway flights from India for 15 days but soon the revocation order was suspended and now everything is back as it was pre suspension of the travel order.

Dubai had suspended Air India Express flights flying into the city for the next 15 days due to a COVID scare. Reportedly, Dubai Air India Express flights were cancelled as Air India Express flew passengers with covid-positive certificates twice in the last few weeks.

It has been reported that a COVID positive person flew from Jaipur to Dubai on September 4, and a similar incident had happened earlier as well. So, now there will be no Air India Express flights to Dubai starting from September 18, until October 2.

According to the latest rules as outlined by the UAE Government, passengers must have a COVID-negative certificate in order to fly to the country. Furthermore, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has asked AI Express to pay for the medical services, and quarantine expenditure of the passengers in that flight.

Passengers who were seated in close proximity to the COVID-positive passengers had to undergo COVID test, and quarantine. The entire incident has been the onus of the handling agencies at the airports in India. The handling agencies have been asked to work with caution, and to put in place a three-tier checking mechanism so that such mistakes are not repeated in the future.

But now in a twist, Air India Express tweets that all flights are to resume to/from Dubai as per schedule. We are guessing the decision has been made after a lot of deliberations.
