Wayanad Lok Sabha Election 2024 Result LIVE: The counting of votes for the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency began at 8 AM today. The Election Commission of India will announce the results for the 543 Parliamentary constituencies that went to polls from April 19 to June 1 today (June 4). Wayanad, one of the most watched constituencies in the country, is set to witness a keenly contested battle among key candidates. Voting in Wayanad took place on April 26 in the second phase of the elections.  A total of 73.57 per cent voter turnout was recorded in Wayanad, as per the Election Commission of India. One of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, Wayanad constituency witnessed a contest between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who looks to retain the seat, K Surendran of the BJP,  and Annie Raja of the CPI.  The Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency is considered a stronghold for the Congress as the grand old party is looking for a third consecutive win. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi won the seat with more than 7 lakh votes. He defeated the CPI candidate PP Suneer, who received 2.7 lakh votes. In the 2014 general elections, MI Shanavas of the Congress won the seat by 3,77,035 votes. He defeated Sathyan Mokeri of the CPI with a margin of 20,870 votes.
