“Kamar tod denge” these words came from the Prime Minister Naredndra Modi while addressing a rally in Cuttack. It is for the people to decide how far such deliberations are palatable from the man at the top most position in the country.
That was obviously a selective metaphor for not sparing the corrupt ones but observers look at that usage as unacceptable for any decent deliberation.
“ Such use of terminologies do not behoove a man who is in such a position. It smacks of a kind of frustration within or a fear of losing grounds in other States and somehow seeking respite from Odisha as far as possible for his goal for ‘400 sau paar’, remarked Priya Ranjan Sahoo, a senior political analyst.
The PM said those words while attacking the people surrounding the Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik whom he described as an unholy alliance of few people who have nearly made the CM as a captive.
A group of corrupt and self-seeking officers who stand as a hindrance for the State of Odisha which is so rich yet people here rot in poverty.
Those who are in league with ‘maffia’ shall not be spared at any cost, the PM also sounded the warning for the CM, by implication, that such a coterie have seen to it that the state is mired in a terrible mess of Ponzi scam and mining scam.
“It seems that is one weapon that the PM has still kept confined within the sheath to scare the BJD tops in Odisha” added Sahoo
As if, the arms of the law are not far from the Naveen-led dispensation and the cloud of vigil might burst anytime.
In his address in Puri the same day, the PM questioned the morality of the BJD as regards the mystery behind the missing key of ‘Ratna Bhandar’(main store room of Ornaments) of lord Jagannath which he alleged that, the key has reached Tamil Nadu, an apparent swipe at a BJD leader who hails from Tamil Nadu and allegedly running the affairs of the BJD government here.
When one reaches a state of defensive ferocity, naturally the language changes to become harsh and often not very palatable.
Calling the chief minister as a ‘captive’ in the hands of a corrupt group also smacks of disappointment within the BJP in general and the PM in particular.
On Monday the PM addressed public meetings in Puri, Cuttack and Angul.
