Arunachal Pradesh Election Result 2024: Pema Khandu-Led BJP Wins Big, Clinches 45 Out Of 60 Seats So Far

Arunachal Assembly Election Results 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh for the third consecutive term on Sunday (June 2) after securing a thumping victory in the Assembly polls. According to the latest data shared by the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 45 seats in the 60-member assembly. The saffron party is leading on four seats in the state. The National Peoples Party (NPEP) has won five seats, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won one seat, and the Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA) won two seats Out of the 60-member Assembly seats, the BJP won 10 seats unopposed. Besides Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who was elected unopposed from the Mukto Assembly seat and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein from the Chowkham (ST) seat, the other eight BJP nominees who have been elected uncontested are Dasanglu Pul (Hayuliang-ST), Dongru Siongju (Bomdila), Techi Ratu (Sagalee), Hage Appa (Ziro-Hapoli), Jikke Tako (Tali), Nyato Dukam (Taliha), Mutchu Mithi (Roing), and Techi Kaso (Itanagar). He defeated his close rival Dihom Kitnya of the NPP. BJPs Wangki Lowang won Namsangs seat by 56 votes, defeating his nearest rival Ngonglin Boi of the NCP. BJPs Puinnyo Apum won the Dambuk constituency by a margin of 222 votes, defeating his nearest challenger Raju Tayeng of the Peoples Party of Arunachal (PPA). Rode Bui of the BJP retained the Dumporijo seat, defeating NPP contender Tabe Doni by 1,591 votes.  Following BJPs resounding victory in the state, the celebration began at the BJP office in Itanagar with workers dancing and artists playing instruments in happiness.
