Bus with 40 Rajasthan pilgrims falls into gorge, 3 injured

UDAIPUR: A bus carrying around 40 pilgrims from Pragyaraj-Kumbh Mela skidded off the road near Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh and plunged into a gorge late on Monday night. Three men seated in front of the vehicle sustained some injuries, others are safe. They were returning home after visiting Prayagraj when the mishap occurred.“The incident occurred when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle at an under-construction road. The bus overturned due to barriers and fell into a gorge. Three persons sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

Three persons sustained minor injuries in the mishap. According to preliminary reports, the pilgrims belong to Udaipur district. They were returning home after visiting Prayagraj when the mishap occurred.“The incident occurred when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle at an under-construction road. The bus overturned due to barriers and fell into a gorge. Three men seated in front of the vehicle sustained some injuries, others are safe. The injured were taken to hospital,” tour operator Nanu Ram Vaishnav told TOI over phone.The passengers were left stranded for some hours as the driver fled immediately after the mishap.
