Hailstorm, showers bring down mercury across Rajasthan

JAIPUR: With active western disturbances, many places in the state witnessed showers and hailstorm at many places in the state on Saturday due to which shivering cold was revived during daytime.Though it did not impact the early morning temperatures, a dip of almost 4 degrees was witnessed in the maximum temperatures across the state. Many who believed winters are over were surprised with the change in the weather. Met office said that similar conditions will prevail in the northern and eastern parts of the state in the next 24 hours.Jaipurites woke up to a warmer morning as minimum temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius, almost 1 degree above the normal notch was recorded.

Some places in the city also witnessed scattered rainfall.Some places in Alwar , Bharatpur, Sikar and Jhunjhunu also witnessed hailstorm and rainfall that brought worries for the farmers eying on the harvest of Rabi crop.Sikar was followed by Sriganganagar where a minimum temperature of 11.2 degrees Celsius was recorded, Udaipur 12.8, Jaisalmer and Kota 13.7 degrees Celsius each, Churu 14, Ajmer 16.4, Bikaner 17.1, Barmer 19.2 and a minimum temperature of 19.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jodhpur.
