Trichy: The air intelligence unit of customs at the Trichy international airport seized US and Singapore dollars worth Rs 17.17 lakh from a passenger bound to Singapore on Thursday.The passenger, Kumar, a native of Tiruvarur district, concealed the currencies in packets of incense sticks. Customs officials seized US $13,800 and Singapore $1,150.The passenger was taken for interrogation to ascertain the need to smuggle such a huge amount.
