Editor of weekly found dead with head injuries in Bhiwandi, family raises suspicion

BHIWANDI: Two days after the editor of a weekly paper went missing, his body was found lying in a creek in Bhiwandi . "The family members of the deceased have raised suspicion over the cause of death... We expect to get some details from the post-mortem report," said Hajare. After the person was brought out and declared dead, the body was sent to IGM Hospital in Bhiwandi. The police said that Pandey had suffered head injuries.The police relayed the information about the body to other police stations to check about any missing person complaints. Senior inspector Sanjay Hajare said that the body has been sent to to the state-run JJ Hospital in Byculla for a post-mortem.

The the family members of the deceased, Nityanand Pandey, have expressed suspicion over what caused his death, the police said.When Pandey, who had left his Mira Road home on Friday evening, did not return until the next morning, his family members lodged a missing person's complaint at Kashimira police station.On Saturday afternoon, officials from Bhiwandi taluka police station received information about an unidentified person lying inside a 15-foot-deep creek along the road. After the person was brought out and declared dead, the body was sent to IGM Hospital in Bhiwandi. The police said that Pandey had suffered head injuries.The police relayed the information about the body to other police stations to check about any missing person complaints. When they found that a person, meeting the same description, had beenr reported missing at Kashimira police station, they got in touch with Pandey's family.On Sunday, family members visited the hospital in Bhiwandi and identified the deceased as Pandey. Senior inspector Sanjay Hajare said that the body has been sent to to the state-run JJ Hospital in Byculla for a post-mortem."The family members of the deceased have raised suspicion over the cause of death... We expect to get some details from the post-mortem report," said Hajare.
