After IIM speech, another model code case against Jayant Sinha

The pamphlets, highlighting the achievements of Sinha, the sitting MP of the constituency, didn’t carry the name of the printers. Jayant is contesting the election from the seat on BJP ticket.The Ranchi district administration had earlier this month also slapped a case of model code violation case against Sinha for allegedly publicising the achievements of the BJP-led government at a degree distribution ceremony programme of IIM-Ranchi. HAZARIBAG: Deputy commissioner-cum-district returning officer of Hazaribag Ravi Shankar Shukla on Friday issued orders to the election commission’s expenditure cell to deduct the cost of printing of pamphlets and calendars from the poll expense of Union minister Jayant Sinha for violating the model code of conduct. Sources said an FIR will be lodged against them.Shukla said the district administration has launched a ‘Know Your Booth’ campaign at all booths for voters to verify their names and get it corrected in the electoral list. While Sauasy replied to the notice Yadav reportedly refused to accept it.

JMM had written to chief electoral officer ( Jharkhand ) L Khiangte in this regard accusing the minister of using convocation to canvas for his party.On the other hand, the district administration also took note of purported ‘objectionable messages’ posted by two prominent BJP leaders — Amarjit Yadav and Deepaknath Sauasy — on social media. While Sauasy replied to the notice Yadav reportedly refused to accept it. Sources said an FIR will be lodged against them.Shukla said the district administration has launched a ‘Know Your Booth’ campaign at all booths for voters to verify their names and get it corrected in the electoral list.
