Nagpur: Nandanvan police station has been alleged of its apathy in a case of brutal attack on a youth who died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment in the hospital. The deceased Karan Mehta was attacked by few criminal elements at his house on May 11. His brother Arjun Mehta informed that a case was also registered at Nandanvan police station but no one was arrested in the case. Holding the cops responsible for the killers moving freely, Arjun alleged that dreaded criminal Shamrao Gaderia, who was also involved in illegal liquor trade had murdered his brother but Nandanvan police did not arrest him as he provide monthly ‘cut’ to the cops. As Karan breathed his last on Wednesday, his family gathered around the mortuary at Medical hospital where his body was kept for postmortem. Quite a tension prevailed as the deceased’s relatives were fuming with anger to avenge the murder after police turned insensitive to their complaint. The family also kept waiting for the police to initiate action. However the cops did not arrive till the time of filing the report. Further details are awaited.
