Stones hurled at JD(S) leader's SUV, Nikhil roadshow hit

MYSURU: At least 30 people hurled stones at JD(S) leader Jagadish 's vehicle, disrupting a rally by Nikhil Kumaraswamy, the party's candidate from Mandya , in Krishnarajpet on Friday night.Jagadish told reporters that his SUV was in the rear of Nikhil's convoy during a roadshow in Somanahalli village when the attack took place. Police deployed additional forces to prevent further violence. The village was tense after the incident. "Around 30-40 youngsters attacked our vehicle and stopped us from entering the village," he said.The windshield and the body of the SUV were damaged in the attack, he said, but the occupants escaped unhurt.Police arrested two suspects but the others managed to escape.
