Most senior IAS officer transferred from Maharashtra secretariat

Maharashtra’s most senior serving IAS officer Medha Gadgil was transferred out of the state secretariat on Monday. AdvertisingWith Gadgil out of the state secretariat, Jain is now the senior-most bureaucrat in the state secretariat. Despite being the senior-most IAS officer, Gadgil was also kept out of the Civil Services Board. AdvertisingChief Minister Devendra Fadnavis transferred the Additional Chief Secretary-rank 1983-batch officer from the state’s Relief and Rehabilitation Department. Last June, Fadnavis had moved out former Additional Chief Secretary, Sudhir Srivastava (1983 batch), who was senior to Jain, and appointed him the chairman of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.
