Let us not make any personal attack on leaders. For many years, the voice of Dakshina Kannada district has not been heard in the Parliament. Issues related to the district’s development have not been raised in the Parliament. Let us provide an opportunity for a Congress candidate to raise issues pertaining to Dakshina Kannada in the Parliament,” he said.Lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the minister said none of the promises made by the BJP have been fulfilled. “They have been banking on sentiments of the people rather than actual issues. Though nearly 150 people died after demonetization, the government has not taken any initiative to conduct a study on such deaths. None of the family members of those who died after demonetization have been compensated. Five airports in the country are privatized, but there are no schemes for the people. The opposition has been demanding a joint parliamentary committee inquiry into the Rafale deal, but the government refused to do so, saying that the case is pending in court. When the court asked for documents, the government said they were stolen. Should we re-elect such a government?” Khader questioned. The minister asserted that Nikhil Gowda will be the coalition candidate from Mandya. “We will work together for his victory from Mandya,” he added.
