Kolhapur: The Maharashtra Federation of Junior College Teachers’ Organisation (MFJCTO) has called for non-cooperation in the forthcoming HSC exams, which is scheduled to commence from February 21 across the state.Avinash Talekar, executive president of the MFJCTO, told TOI that they have decided to wait until Wednesday, February 20 before deciding on the nature of the non-cooperation.“Whether to boycott the entire examination process or only the assessment process will be clarified by Wednesday evening and a notice regarding the same has already been given to the concerned authorities,” he said.He added that a meeting was earlier conducted on January 31 with the education minister regarding the pending demands. The minister had promised to fulfil the demands by February 10 by issuing the government resolutions. However, no official communication has been made by the state government until Monday, February 18.Anil Deshmukh, President of the MFJCTO, has warned the government that if no action is initiated, they will be starting with their non-cooperation during the exam and only the state government shall be held liable for any and all consequences.The association has demanded implementation of the old pension scheme, announcing the list of permanently un-aided junior colleges which are eligible for the assessment and granting them the aid, making the subject of information technology mandatory and aided across the state, to fix the retirement age at 60, to offer free education to the wards of the junior college teachers and to fill up the vacancies in the junior colleges, among many other demands.
