KANPUR: One more person has been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman, whose body tied with a wooden log was recovered from Adarsh Vihar Chakeri on March 12.The arrested person has been identified as Pappu , who along with his aide Amar Singh is suspected of having committed the murder. The latter was arrested by the police on March 26.SHO Chakeri, Ranjit Rai said that the body, recovered from an isolated plot, was identified as that of Bhoori of Bareilly "During interrogation, Pappu divulged that he along with his friend Amar Singh had committed the murder of his wife Bhoori in a fit of rage, as she was constantly chatting on phone and had refused to cook food for them," said the SHO.Pappu was arrested from near Shyamnagar bypass on Thursday morning, he added.Bhoori had married Pappu of Banda in October 2018. As he was jobless, he contacted his friend Amar, a native of Fatehpur and asked him to help find a job. On the assurance given by Amar for arranging a job, Pappu and Bhoori came to the city. The couple was putting up at a rented accomodation in Shyamnagar area of Chakeri.The accused after strangling Bhoori, poured acid on her face to conceal her identity. They tied the body with a wooden log and dumped at a vacant plot in Shyam Nagar of Chakeri, probably on the night of March 12, and escaped, the police said.
