Jharkhand government to approach Centre for hike in PDS quota, beneficiaries

The Centre has further determined an average annual increase of 1.64% in population to calculate the rise in the number of beneficiaries who could be included under the scheme.Based on those parameters, the total population of the state is expected to reach 3,78,57,182 by December 31.“The population of Jharkhand has recorded a rise of 16.4% between 2011 census and 2019, based on Centre’s parameters.
