Banswara doctors prescribe formula for healthy democracy

Doctors have joined in the ‘Vote Banswara’ campaign and are using the punch line on their prescription slips. The medical department has ordered for 73 stamps to be sent to health centres in rural areas and 7 stamps for the district hospital. Udaipur: Apart from prescribing remedies to treat physical ailments, government medical practitioners in Banswara district are spreading word for building a strong government too. The doctors have also been made to pledge on spreading voting awareness among people in their areas. Whenever they pick up the slip, they would be reminded of their responsibility to vote,” Asheesh Gupta, collector Banswara told TOI.“The department is providing the special seal for the purpose.

Udaipur: Apart from prescribing remedies to treat physical ailments, government medical practitioners in Banswara district are spreading word for building a strong government too. Doctors have joined in the ‘Vote Banswara’ campaign and are using the punch line on their prescription slips. If one happens to visit any of the government hospitals and dispensaries, one would see doctors affixing the ‘Vote Karo Banswara’ seal after prescribing the medicine course for each patient.“The initiative has been taken by the medical department at the behest of the SVEEP cell. The patients would see a sealed appeal to cast their votes on the polling day, on their prescriptions. Whenever they pick up the slip, they would be reminded of their responsibility to vote,” Asheesh Gupta, collector Banswara told TOI.“The department is providing the special seal for the purpose. A trial was done at the government MG Hospital recently which was much appreciated not only by the physicians’ community but patients as well who ensured the doctors that they would certainly cast their votes,” Heeralal Tabiyar, Chief Medical and Health Officer said.
