These issues will be immediately taken up to senior authorities,” said a railway officer, wishing anonymity.In August, 2018, a parcel booking agent was looted of Rs 78,000 at the island platform.“The accused was arrested in the case after a month. During questioning, he revealed that lack of cameras and other security personnel at island platforms helped him in conducting recce of victim and committing the crime,” Government Railway Police (GRP) station in-charge Gayatri Anand said.She added that in one of the bike lifting case reported at the parking of island platform, the accused, who was arrested when he visited second time with the similar intention, also claimed that lack of security arrangements at the spot was somewhere proving helpful for them.“Now, we have erected posters at parking areas to alert the visitors about security of their vehicles. Besides, we have urged Ratlam DRM to get installed CCTVs at the island platforms to help in round-the-clock monitoring,” Gayatri said.
