‘Joyful learning’ to attract students towards class

Indore: To encourage government school students from Class I to VIII to attend school regularly and get their basic concept clear, the school education department will begin a joyful learning programme from April.“We want 100 per cent attendance of students and this is possible only if the atmosphere is joyful and encouraging for studies. They have to check the work given to the students regularly,” said Rathore while talking to TOI.A special assembly will be conducted on April 1. They will have to conduct fun activities to teach languages and mathematics so that their concepts are cleared. These activities don’t require bag or books and can be implemented while playing.“The faculty will also be given audio-visuals to increase interest of students in various topics. Parents will also be invited in this assembly, where they will be informed about the programme in detail.

The joyful learning programme module will be implemented from April,” district project coordinator Akshay Rathore said.To ensure proper implementation of the module from the new academic session, training sessions are being organised for faculty, block resource coordinators and cluster resource coordinators (CRC) across all the districts, he added.The faculty will have to teach students with the help of stories. They will have to conduct fun activities to teach languages and mathematics so that their concepts are cleared. The faculty will be provided with a list of 30 activities each for languages and mathematics. These activities don’t require bag or books and can be implemented while playing.“The faculty will also be given audio-visuals to increase interest of students in various topics. Each day, they will have to conduct indoor and outdoor activities. They have to check the work given to the students regularly,” said Rathore while talking to TOI.A special assembly will be conducted on April 1. Parents will also be invited in this assembly, where they will be informed about the programme in detail.
