Cast vote, administration to urge people during Panchkroshi Yatra

The parties have claimed that they will not use the yatra for any political gain.

The yatra witnesses a sea of devotees walking 108 kilometres around Ujjain.“The model code of conduct will be strictly followed during the yatra. A demonstration will also be given on EVMs and VVPATs at stoppages along its route,” Ujjain collector Shashank Mishra said.The yatra is held in the Hindu calendar month of Baisakh and ends on ‘Amavasya’. This year the tour will begin on April 29 and will end on May 3. On the first day, devotees will take a holy dip in Kshipra river and after seeking blessings at Nagchandreshwar temple, they will begin the five-day march.The first stop of the tour is Pingleshwar, followed by Karohan. The next intermediate stop is at village Navla and the third stop is at Ambodiya. The yatra then halts at intermediate stop Kaliyadeh before the fourth stop, Jaithal, followed by Undasa.At all the stops, participants will be urged to cast vote in the elections. The collector had issued special instructions to officials concerned in this regard during a meeting held last week.Every year, workers of both BJP and Congress, voluntarily serve the devotees during the yatra. The parties have claimed that they will not use the yatra for any political gain.
