Indore: A 38-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Anil Nagar on Friday by her husband, who suspected that she was cheating on him. The woman’s five-year-old son, who tried to save his mother, also sustained knife injuries in the incident.The incident took place around 6 am when the couple started fighting. Their son Granth told police that he and his sister woke up after hearing his mother Preeti Vishwakarma’s screams.When they went out, they saw that their father Raghuveer was thrashing Preeti brutally. Raghuveer then went inside the kitchen to bring a knife and started attacking her with it. When Granth tried to save his mother, he also sustained injuries on his hand.After attacking Preeti for over 12 times on her torso and limbs, the man tried to flee the spot but was caught by neighbours who had reached their house after hearing commotion.Seeing the man, his wife and child in a pool of blood, the neighbours informed police. The neighbours claimed that one of the constables gave them a call and asked them to keep the woman and her husband at the home till they reached the spot.By the time police officials reached the house, the woman succumbed to the injuries. Neighbours said that had the woman received appropriate treatment instantly, she would have survived the attack.Police said that Raghuveer paints house for a living and his wife worked as a maid at houses in the locality. Raghuveer was under the impression that his wife was in an illicit relationship with someone following which he attacked her.The woman has a 20-year-old daughter Manshi, who is married apart from Saloni, 15 and Granth, 5. Police arrested the accused and further probe is on.
