Industrial belts to get over 2K power distribution boxes

Indore: The power distribution company has planned to revamp electricity distribution system in industrial belts ahead of summers to ensure proper power supply and cut on outages.Discom is planning to install additional transformers and 2500 distribution boxes in industrial belts housing small scale units.Industry associations representing Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) have complained of frequent power cut leading to abrupt breaking of process of operations causing hefty losses. Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd superintendent engineer Subroto Roy said, “Overload, old wire and internal faults of firms affect the power distribution system. Sudden cut in electricity adversely hit the quantity and quality of finished goods.”“The replacement and monitoring of wires and distribution boxes should be done regularly by discom for smooth power supply.” All dangerous points will be replaced so that faults could be reduced. We have sent requirement to revamp industrial lines and are getting new transformers and other material.”Pologround, Sanwer Road, Laxmibai Nagar, Palda are the main industrial belts in Indore hosting small scale industries.Most of the issues related to tripping, lose contact and faults are being reported from Sanwer Road industrial belt , as per discom.The power company has plans to change 11 KV and 33 KV conductors, 2500 distribution boxes and wire at many places in the industrial belts.Roy said, “We are working to protect distribution system.

Additional diffusion transformers will be installed in areas where overloading is reported.”Industrialists said transformers in the industrial belts are overloaded and they should be replaced and new ones should be placed for smooth flow of electricity.Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh (AIMP) president Alok Dave said, “Industries are facing a lot of issues due to power tripping that hurts the whole chain of production. Sudden cut in electricity adversely hit the quantity and quality of finished goods.”“The replacement and monitoring of wires and distribution boxes should be done regularly by discom for smooth power supply.”
