One more burglary at Suncity stokes safety fears

GURUGRAM: Burglars have yet again struck at Suncity township , and stolen goods worth Rs 4 lakh from a house. With help of others, we managed to break the front door only to find our house ransacked. No information has been received so far.” Despite several attempts, investigating officer Ashwini Kumar could not be contacted. According to residents in Suncity, this is the third theft reported from the area in the past 10 days.The MCG had taken over the colony’s maintenance in the last week. When we returned around 1.30 am, my son-in-law found our main door locked from inside.

GURUGRAM: Burglars have yet again struck at Suncity township , and stolen goods worth Rs 4 lakh from a house. This is the third burglary taking palce in the upscale township in last 10 days, police said.Pratima Srivastava, whose house was burgled on March 16 night, said, “ We had gone to Ghaziabad to attend a party on March 16. When we returned around 1.30 am, my son-in-law found our main door locked from inside. With help of others, we managed to break the front door only to find our house ransacked. We made a call to police control room, but even after waiting for an hour no cop arrived.”With the help of a neighbour, Srivastavas later managed to inform the police, who reached the spot and asked them not to touch any item in the house. According to Pratima, the family waited for two days for police to collect evidence but as no one from the police station arrived they cleared the crime spot. According to residents in Suncity, this is the third theft reported from the area in the past 10 days.The MCG had taken over the colony’s maintenance in the last week. “This is the third such incident in 10 days. Last two thefts took place on a first floor flat in E 25 and a first floor flat in F 94,” said Abhey Poonia, a resident.A police officer from Sector 53 station, on the condition of anonymity, said, “The FIR has been registered, and the investigations is under way. No information has been received so far.” Despite several attempts, investigating officer Ashwini Kumar could not be contacted.
