DJ, lawyer part of gang that steals car tyres, five arrested

Gurgaon: A gang of five car tyre thieves was busted by the Sector 40 police on Monday from Jharsa Road in Sector 38. Gurgaon: A gang of five car tyre thieves was busted by the Sector 40 police on Monday from Jharsa Road in Sector 38. Following the arrest, shocking facts came to the fore when cops found out that one of the accused is a practising lawyer at a local court, another a DJ, the third accused an electronic shop owner while two others are unemployed.Four tyres of a Vento car was recovered from their possession along with a jack and lever used for committing the crimes. The accused have been identified as Punit (26) — resident of Sector 38 and a lawyer by profession, Gajender alias Gajju (19), Sunny (19), Aman (18) and Deepak (21) residents ofJharsa village. “The accused were produced in a city court on Monday and taken on two days police remand,” an officer said. “The accused would chose an area and track cars that are parked unattended outside homes or inside excluded areas and steal tyres. A lawyer being a part of such a gang is unbelievable and we are trying to find out the motive of the gang,” said ASI Subhash Bokan, police spokesperson.According to police, Punit is an LLB and practices in a local court, Gajju has an electronic shop in Sector 40, Sunny works as a DJ while Aman and Deepak are unemployed.“We had received a tip-off about the presence of the gang members in Sector 38, following which we laid a trap and nabbed the accused. The car used by them to commit the crimes was also seized from their possession. ,” said inspector Virender Gill, SHO, Sector 40 police station.
