Gurgaon: Haryana BJP has started its social media outreach programme — #EkPostNamoKNaam — to press ahead with its social media advantage, connect with voters and identify those who hold a favourable opinion about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party. The campaign will encourage people to share at least one post about the PM on any social media platform. The campaign, launched by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday, is designed to serve two purposes — amplify the party’s message on social media and identify people who have a favourable opinion about the PM and the party. Closer to election time, the party will hold small gatherings at block and booth levels to brief these respondents about the party’s programme, and urge them to spread the good word about their government in neighbourhoods and among friends. BJP will also try to ensure that these people reach polling booths to cast their votes.“Social media is a very important medium. We’re trying to use it to spread word about the good work our government has done and reach out to people,” said state BJP president Subhash Barala, adding BJP governments have been using social media for grievance redress as well, and it has helped reduce the gap between government and public.
