17-years-old girl die during treatment, death toll in Ukalana fire reaches four

Suman’s husband Suresh Kumar, 42, and their two other daughters Nisha and Geeta, apart from Pooja, received severe burn injuries in the incident. Hisar: A 17-year-old girl, who was severed burned in the fire that claimed lives of her aunt and two cousins in Hisar, died on Sunday. He rushed to his family and burnt his hands and head while trying to rescue them. On hearing the commotion, some of their neighbours, who were irrigating their fields, reached the house and started rescuing the family.Suman, Isha and Rajni died on the spot. A fire engine, which had been dispatched to the house located in the middle of the family’s farm, could not reach the site as it got stuck in loose soil on the way.

Hisar: A 17-year-old girl, who was severed burned in the fire that claimed lives of her aunt and two cousins in Hisar, died on Sunday. The deceased Pooja was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.Late on Friday night, 38-year-old Suman and her daughters Isha, 12, and Rajni, 10, were killed in a fire apparently triggered by short circuit in their house at Bhairi Akbarpur village of Ukalana in Hisar. Suman’s husband Suresh Kumar, 42, and their two other daughters Nisha and Geeta, apart from Pooja, received severe burn injuries in the incident. Condition of one of the two remaining daughters is also critical, doctors have said.Prabhuram, whose hands received burns while trying to rescue his kin, had told police that the two families had gone to sleep after dinner on Friday night. While most members of the family were sleeping in the verandah, he was sleeping in a room near it.He said he felt suffocated in the middle of the night and when he sat up, he saw smoke and flames around him. He rushed to his family and burnt his hands and head while trying to rescue them. On hearing the commotion, some of their neighbours, who were irrigating their fields, reached the house and started rescuing the family.Suman, Isha and Rajni died on the spot. A fire engine, which had been dispatched to the house located in the middle of the family’s farm, could not reach the site as it got stuck in loose soil on the way.
