“The biggest obstacle faced by security forces while doing their duty is people like me and my ilk who consider themselves as VVIPs,” he said. The force, he said, would also suggest how to tackle these threats.“Terrorism is an enemy of humanity. The CISF is mandated to provide security to major infrastructure installations such as airports, sea ports, power plants, nuclear research centres and government buildings.“As an organisation, you have covered many milestones. “When you stop them for security check, they become angry and throw tantrums. Your role becomes all the more important when our neighbour is hostile.

GHAZIABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday sent across a stern warning to terror outfits targeting the country, saying the government will not shy away from taking bold decisions against such elements.“For decades, the country and numerous families have suffered pain owing to terrorism, Naxalism and insurgency. What happened in Pulwama and Uri was unbearable. Enough is enough. India can’t suffer this indefinitely. With the support of crores of people of this country, we were able to take some tough decisions,” the PM said in his address to personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force ( CISF ), which celebrated its 50th Raising Day on its Ghaziabad campus on Sunday. The PM also proposed to set up a special task force within CISF to conduct real-time monitoring of terror activities across the world and come up with reports on new methods being adopted by terror outfits. The force, he said, would also suggest how to tackle these threats.“Terrorism is an enemy of humanity. A task force should be constituted, and for this, I will get the government to clear all the formalities,” he said, adding that the responsibility of protecting modern infrastructure installations built for new India was in the safe hands of CISF.“It’s very difficult to protect any institution where there is a daily footfall of 30 lakh (Delhi Metro) or where eight lakh people commute every day (airports)… You are not only standing at the gate, you are contributing to the country’s growth,” the PM said. The CISF is mandated to provide security to major infrastructure installations such as airports, sea ports, power plants, nuclear research centres and government buildings.“As an organisation, you have covered many milestones. Your role becomes all the more important when our neighbour is hostile. When it has no strength to find a direct war, it leaves no chance to conspire and create internal disturba-nces and provides support from across the border,” the PM said.Modi also hit out at the “VIP culture” and its abuse. “The biggest obstacle faced by security forces while doing their duty is people like me and my ilk who consider themselves as VVIPs,” he said. “When you stop them for security check, they become angry and throw tantrums. They insult you and say, ‘I will see you’. We should think of giving training to people because if they are disciplined, your work becomes easier,” he said.Saying police and other forces were not given the kind of recognition they deserved, the PM said the national police memorial was a befitting tribute to 35,000 police personnel who laid down their lives for the country. The CISF celebrated its 50th Raising Day at the force’s 5th Reserve Battalion camp in Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram.
