Ghaziabad: Breaking a traffic rule and getting away won’t be easy

It is a hi-tech system that monitors traffic along expressway, alerts commuters of traffic movements and ensures swift response to them.“It’s high time we streamlined traffic movement in Ghaziabad.
Under the ITMS project, 300 red light vehicle detection (RLVD) cameras and 110 pan-tilt zoom (PTZ) cameras will be installed across the city.
These cameras will be powered by optical character recognition technology to read the number plates of vehicles violating the traffic rules like speeding, red light jumping etc.
“Traffic light violation and wrong-side driving are very common in the city and we will do our best to monitor traffic particularly on these three stretches,” he said.“The command system will come up at Meerut trisection soon.
“”By this year, the ITMS will be introduced in the city,” said Singh.
