On Sunday, Tambaram, Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram received considerable amount of rainfall. Nungambakkam received 9.4 mm of rain and Meenambakkam 13.7 mm by 8.30 p.m. “Today [Sunday] most of Tamil Nadu is silent.... But tomorrow is going to be different. The first spell of rains battered southern Chennai suburbs close to OMR and ECR. The area from Taramani to Muttukadu received rain during the first spell,” weather blogger Pradeep John said in a post. Chennai Corporation received 19 complaints on its helpline 1913 relating to water logging in southern parts of city. “We received 43 complaints in the past three days. The number was higher on Sunday. Work on restoration of the facilities has been taken up,” said an official.
