Chennai skies to be partly cloudy in mornings

Sky condition in the city is likely to be partly cloudy in the morning hours and mainly clear thereafter. CHENNAI: With temperature in several regions of Tamil Nadu crossing 40 degrees Celsius or inching closer to it, weathermen on Sunday forecast that the condition would continue to be the same for the next 48 hours and dry weather would prevail over the state.On Sunday, Karur recorded the highest temperature at 40.5 degrees Celsius followed by Tiruthani at 40.3 degrees Celsius and Madurai at 40 degrees Celsius.Several other interior and northern districts were not far behind. Dharmapuri and Salem felt 39.5 degrees Celsius, Trichy 39.6 degrees Celsius, Salem 39.5 degree Celsius and Vellore 39.9 degree Celsius.The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast that the maximum temperature is likely to continue to be above normal by two to three degrees Celsius in a few places over interior Tamil Nadu including Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Trichy, Dindigul and Madurai.Nungambakkam in Chennai recorded a maximum of 34.
